Camp 2015

Summer 2015: Week 3: Days Four and Five: STL Eats

On Thursday, the campers started off their days by cooking for Campus Kitchen!  Campus Kitchen is a SLU organization that helps provide meals to people that may not be capable of providing food for themselves due to issues with things such as money and disabilities.  In the afternoon, the campers had plans of going to swim for a couple hours.  However, rain sadly made that impossible, so the campers played games and made homemade ice cream!

Campers played ice breaker games to get to know each other more. These included games such as "Suddenly" and charades.

On Friday, the campers made their own lunch, which consisted of Singapore noodles, roasted broccoli with chile and garlic, and cranberry crunch cookies!  It was absolutely delicious.IMG_6173

After lunch, the campers headed back to the kitchen to cook for the appetizer party!  They made honey sriracha wings, Mediterranean salad, and potato salad.

Then, the campers had their appetizer party.  All the food was so tasty and it was fun seeing everything come together! Overall, this week was so wonderful and fun!  It was an interesting experience for everyone to be able to learn about different foods and cuisines cooked around the St. Louis area.  The food was all delicious and it was very fun to be able to broaden our understanding of different dishes made within STL.
