Happy hump day!

Today the campers started their day in the garden for disability day. They had a guest speaker who has a disability teach them about doing daily activities with various disabilities. After that they experienced these activities first hand by gardening if they were blind in one eye, in a wheelchair, etc.

The day then continued in the kitchen where we made our lunch for today. On the menu was build your own tacos featuring ground beef, black beans, satueed onions and bell peppers, shredded cheese, salsa, homemade salsa verde, shredded romaine, and sour cream. We also had fresh cantaloupe, grapes, and strawberries! In the afternoon we got creative during a lesson on whole grains and physical education. We then started prepping our dishes for the parent party on Friday. The campers prepared the split pea mint hummus for the crostini, roasted strawberries, and the base for the strawberry ice cream. Needless to say, we all had a busy, but fun day!
